The Hive Gallery in Ocean Grove is an exciting new arts space for the Bellarine Peninsula region.
Downstairs displays Willie Wildlife Sculptures bronze birdbaths with frogs and character filled birds around the edge. There are also freestanding sculptures such as brolgas, pelicans, giant snails, and lizards. Will’s work is well known after 15 years operating from home in Ocean Grove but also for his displays internationally, including at the Chelsea Flower Show in the United Kingdom each year.
Upstairs features a growing collection of over a dozen Australian artists, mainly local. Work includes furniture, paintings, photography and more bronze sculptures in a large, light filled space.
Over summer there is also a Pop Up Cafe next door to enjoy coffee, wine and nibbles.
The Hive is located at 41 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove opposite KYO and next to Kingston Park. It is hard to miss with the life size rearing bronze horse in the delightful sculpture garden at the front.
