Kaituna Experience – This area is renowned for the tribal wars of the past. Behind and around the waterfall exists caves used for the hiding of women and children, and later the burial ground of Chief Tutea. There are many Maori Myths and Legends associated with this River known to the locals as Okere (waterfall).
The Okere (Kaituna) River is situated at Okere Falls, between Rotorua (20 minutes drive) and Tauranga (45 minutes drive).

Age Limit: 10 years (half river experience) or 13 years for full experience and must fit safety equipment.
Equipment: We provide wetsuits, fleeces, booties, buoyancy aids, and helmets.
Transport: From Rotorua central is available on request. Alternatively you can meet us at our Kaituna River Base (plenty of free, safe parking).
Trips: Available all year round – Summer (Labour Weekend to Easter Weekend) 9am, 12.30pm or 3.30pm daily; Winter (Easter Weekend to Labour Weekend). Flexibility for groups. Allow 3 hours in total.

Wairoa Experience – The scenery along the rock and tree lined gorge is as much a part of the trip as the exciting waterfalls and rapids. The Wairoa River is situated between Matamata and Tauranga, at the base of the Kaimai Ranges.
A picnic style lunch of a Subway roll, fruit, biscuits and cold drinks are also provided.
Age Limit: 13 years (conditions apply) and must fit safety equipment.
Equipment: We provide wetsuits, fleeces, splash jackets, booties, buoyancy aids, and helmets.
Transport: From Rotorua central may be available on request but is subject to availability.
Trips: 10am or 1pm (meet at river). (Flexibility for groups). Allow 3 hours in total.
