Werte! Local Arrernte elder, artist and educator, Kumalie Riley, is the owner and operator of Tinkerbee Central and Eastern Arrernte Cross-Cultural and Interpretation Services.

Join an interactive Sandpainting Workshop with Kumalie and create your own art piece while you discover the meaning of traditional symbols and explore Indigenous storytelling through art and language.

Follow your cultural experience with a relaxing morning or afternoon tea and browse a range of local art, craft and souvenirs in the lobby shop.

Cultural yarn tours are also available upon request, with a late afternoon start, from Mercure Alice Springs Resort. Experience a Welcome to Country in language and stroll through the grounds of the property and along the banks of the Todd River, as Kumalie shares her cultural knowledge and personal stories. Discover Bush Tucker (traditional foods) and creation stories of the area that connect local Arrente people to the country, through art, song, dance and storytelling.

This is a rare and authentic cultural experience that will enrich any visit to this special region.
