Symphony Hill Wines embodies the cutting edge, neo-vino wine movement that dares to take Australian wines in fresh and exciting directions. Owner, Ewen Macpherson, defied old school wine snobs and dared to believe he could make world class wines in a wine region of unfulfilled potential – the Granite Belt, Queensland.
They are rated 5 stars by James Halliday and Qantas has selected three of their wines to be served on business class flights.
Their winemaker, Abraham De Klerk, has made wine in some of the best wineries in the world. From making super Tuscan wines at Sassicaia in Italy to a vintage at Chateau Clos du Clocher in Pomerol, working with 3 generations of French vignerons, in close proximity to famous Chateau Petrus and Le Pin.
Their flagship red is their 5 star Reserve Shiraz which has won top gold medals at both Sydney and Melbourne Royal Wine Shows and nominated for two trophies. The wine was served to the Royal couple when they visited Brisbane in early 2014.
Their flagship white is their 5 star Gewurztraminer which has been awarded Trophies at National Wine Show of Australia, Royal Queensland and Royal Melbourne Wine Shows.
