Silver Leaf Art Box is an exhibition space in a beautiful rural setting, showcasing the work of contemporary artists with an emphasis on local practitioners.
The current project is Cameron Robbins – Skein of Orbits until 30 January 2022.
They are excited to welcome visitors back to the gallery with a survey of works (2014 – 2021) by Castlemaine-based artist Cameron Robbins. This project coincides with the current exhibition of Robbins’ newly commissioned Solar Drawing Instrumental at Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery as part of the Spring Festival of Drawing, until March 2022.
Skein of Orbits features drawings, long exposure photographs and recent sculptures made from large chunks of optical prism from an unknown lighthouse. These interconnected elements narrate Robbins’ long-held interest in the world’s available natural energy and the tension between order and chaos.
Robbins’ finely tuned mechanical drawing instruments render an impression of the invisible forces that surround us. His studio works and site-specific installations are responsive to the forces of wind, water, sunlight and fermentation.
