Seavewe Artisan Sheep Dairy and Cheesery

Attractions

Seavewe is a Farmhouse Sheep dairy and Creamery located at Hay Flat on the Fleurieu Peninsula, SA. This means we milk our own sheep and carry the milk to the other end of the building where it is turned into Ewenique cheeses by Tony Co-owner and Cheese maker.
We have built up our small herd of East Fresian and Poll Dorset Ewes (referred to as “the Girls”) over the last 7 years with the first 12 “Girls” purchased locally where they were gently handled paddock “Girls”. They have taught us how to care for them, milk them and spoil them.
Milking seasonally, meaning our “Girls” lamb once a year in May/June. The Lambs stay with their Mums to ensure they get an excellent start to life, before heading to boarding school- the lamb shed- where we ensure they are well fed, safe, healthy and happy. This also helps them see us as friends and so they don’t mind coming into the dairy when 2yrs old.
