Rockhampton Zoo

Attractions

Discover more than 60 species of native and exotic animals at Rockhampton Zoo!

Come and meet the newest member of their chimpanzee family, baby Capri who was born in February 2018, or stop by the Australian Wetlands zone to marvel over their giant saltwater crocodile ‘The Colonel’. Spot the colours of the rainbow in their aviaries, overload on cuteness in kangaroo country and watch the otters splash around – Rockhampton Zoo has something for everyone!

Their ‘Keeper Talks’ in the late afternoon are always a delight, especially for children. Give yourself a couple of hours to meet the animals, then take a relaxing walk around Rockhampton’s Botanic Gardens and the Murray Lagoon – all free and all in the same spot!

Rockhampton Zoo is open 8am to 4.30pm everyday (with the exception of Christmas Day) and is a free venue for the community to enjoy.
