Garden of St Erth

Attractions

The Garden of St Erth is a beautiful historic house and garden, a short drive from Daylesford and Ballarat.

Explore the gardens and discover an extraordinary range of espaliered fruit, heirloom vegetables and drought tolerant flowers.

Thousands of naturalised daffodils carpet the lawns in September, and through the summer months, the herbaceous border features Diggers perennials and grasses. The month of May marks the end of the gardening year with a blaze of autumn-coloured trees and late perennials.

Cocooned in the Wombat State Forest, the bush garden plays host to a variety of native birds, as well as being a place of restful contemplation.

Visit the nursery and ask the knowledgeable staff all of your gardening questions. There is a huge selection of heirloom seeds and plants available for you to take home.

Relax over coffee in the organic harvest cafe and stay on for lunch, morning or afternoon tea surrounded by the beauty of the gardens.

Plus onsite overnight glamping has just been added to the St Erth experience.

The Diggers Club is committed to sustainable gardening and visitors will find inspirational ideas for gardening organically, becoming more self-sufficient and saving precious water while still enjoying nature’s bounty.

The Gardens, Cafe and Retail Shop are temporarily closed due to COVID-19. Diggers members can still order seeds online via the website.
