Cambrian Animals: Early complex animals at our doorstep

Attractions

The Cambrian Period is one of the most important periods in Earth’s history as this is when many animals first appear in the fossil record. The new display Cambrian Animals: Early complex animals at our doorstep at the South Australian Museum uncovers the ancient marine world and takes a look at these complex and curious animals.

This display has been built upon the work of 11 years of work by researchers at the South Australian Museum. Having visited Kangaroo Island’s Emu Bay to explore the evolution of complex life on Earth from over 550 million years ago, come and see what is now known about the earliest known forms of complex animal life on Earth.
