Bittern Estate

Attractions

Planted in 1996, the vineyard at Bittern Estate is on the site of the apple and pear orchard known as “Tathravale” that was planted in 1959 by the Zerbe family, who have been orchardists in Australia since 1854.

Over many years the property has produced high quality fresh fruit for the table and in later years, grapes used to produce wines of exceptional quality for other wineries in Victoria. With a mild climate, shelter from the cold south and open exposure to the north for sunlight and warmth, the vineyard is ideal for the production of low volumes of exceptional wines with remarkable bouquet and palate.
