B-24 Liberator Memorial Australia Inc

Attractions

Approximately 35 volunteers are restoring a WW2 bomber, the Liberator, as a memorial to those Australians and Americans who served with this aircraft in the Pacific during WW2. Their eventual aim is to set up an accredited museum and memorial.

They are located in a WW2 hangar on the remains of Werribee Field, a WW2 training airfield.

Visitors, either individuals or groups are offered a guided tour with one of the restorers or can take a self guided tour. As well as the Liberator, there are displays relating to the Liberator, a small museum and the chance to see an Oxford, another WW2 aircraft being built from scratch. This is a ‘hands on’ experience.
