From Lake Mulwala the Mulwala Canal flows 160 kilometres west to the Edward River. A remarkable engineering structure known as the “Lawson Syphons” diverts the canal under the river delivering water to the agricultural areas west of Deniliquin. Interpretive panels telling the story of these Syphons have been installed on site. Located approximately five kilometres from town, further information can be obtained from Deniliquin Visitor Information Centre.
