About Us

Narrabri Big Sky Caravan Park is a quiet shady park ideally located off the Newell Highway on the banks of the Narrabri Creek, in the town centre of Narrabri. The park is next door to the Narrabri Swimming Pool and is an easy walk to the shops, restaurants, RSL, clubs and pubs. Narrabri
Located in the heart of the rich Namoi Valley in north west New South Wales, Narrabri is a vibrant country centre known for cotton, beef and wheat production. 

Surrounded by beautiful natural attractions, explore the spectacular Mount Kaputar National Park with 36,000 hectares of wilderness formed around the extinct Nandewar Volcano. Or Pilliga Forest with walking tracks, bird watching and several hot artesian bore baths to soak in. Nearby Yarrie Lake and Narrabri Lake are popular for water sports including windsurfing, swimming and canoeing and are havens for local and migratory birds.

In the past the Crossing Theatre has played host to huge line acts such as Jimmy Barnes and his son David Campbell, Inxs and Suzie Quatro. The Crossing Theatre has had numerous Australian play productions and it can also host conferences ranging from 10 people to 1,500 people. Crossing Theatre also has a cafe onsite. The Crossing Theatre was completed in November 2002 and named after its location on Narrabri Creek - the original crossing for settlers in the area.

It is located about 25 kilometres west of the town of Narrabri(on sealed road) in rural New South Wales (about 500 kilometres north-west of Sydney), and operated by the Australia Telescope National Facility, a division of CSIRO. Visits by the general public are always welcome! There is a Visitors Centre where you can view the telescope which is a self guided tour and a guide can be arranged on request for groups (costs apply). CSIRO has recently installed new displays at the Australia Telescope Visitor Centre. The telescopes are located close to Yarrie Lake which is also a scientific wonder. The telescope is the only one in the southern hemisphere capable of receiving signals one thousand times higher in frequency than FM radio stations.

Narrabri's old gaol is part of an impressive complex of colonial government buildings which also includes the office of the court of petty sessions and the court house. The architect for this complex, James Barnet, also designed the Sydney General Post Office. The gaol opened in September 1882 and operated as such for exactly 100 years. It now provides an interesting insight to how things were in the past. The" Dalway Collection" donated by Marriot Dalway is reason alone to visit the museum. Members of the Narrabri Historical Society, who run the Old Gaol Heritage Centre, have indexed over 30,000 entries in its family history section. The centre also contains artefacts of historical, archival and cultural significance to the area. Night tours are available for group bookings as well as other general group tours. Town tours can also be arranged.

Narrabri Garden, Flower and Craft Expo will have a garden competition open to all the gardens in Narrabri. After judging, the gardens will be open to the public to view. The Flower Show will be held under the Returned Services League (RSL) Club where people can enter flowers for judging. Also Narrabri Public School will be the venue for craft stalls, garden equipment stalls, activities for the kids, and the barbecue. This year they will be featuring a Quilt Display and much more. The Narrabri and craft expo will also be holding the Mitre 10 Recycled Garden Art Competition on Saturday, 26 October. Enter your own creation or enter your class creation in the recycled garden competition at Narrabri Primary School. To enter, bring your recycled garden art to the Narrabri Primary School Canteen before 1pm on Friday.
