Family Parks was formed in the mid 1990’s by a small group of likeminded park owners interested in providing consistent and high quality service to the caravan and camping market. From humble beginnings the organisation has grown to become Australasia’s leading caravan and tourist park chain with 160+ caravan and tourist park sites within Australia and New Zealand and over 40,000 Tribal Rewards customers.
Promote your caravan park to millions of potential visitors?
One of the primary reasons for joining a chain is to market your caravan park to the domestic and international caravan market and Family Parks undertakes an extensive range of marketing activities that you as a member benefit from.
Brand
Following extensive research undertaken in 2008 Family Parks undertook a major review of its branding and in 2009 launched a new creative based around the proposition that Family Parks are a great place to reconnect with family. The new creative is supported by a series of web based templates that you can use in your own advertising and park signage. The new creative positions us separately from our competitors and is designed to convince existing and new users that caravan parks just like yours, are a great place to stay by building an emotional connection with the brand.
Holiday guide
Family Parks produces an annual A5 holiday guide with an approximate print run of 140,000 copies. Each holiday guide is packed with information about our family and our parks in each State, territory and NZ. Our guides are distributed through network Family Parks Caravan Parks, Family Parks Head Office, State tourism expos, international alliances in Europe and the UK, visitor centres and various motor home companies. Best of all each guide includes a half page devoted to your park with images and key selling points.
Website
The Family Parks website attracts over 40,000 unique visitors per month and allows customers to plan and research caravan holidays throughout Australia and New Zealand. The site also contains specific operator information which can be updated by each park. Customers can now go online and book direct with your park.
Mystery shopping
One of the key ingredients of a successful brand is quality and consistency. As part of our commitment to this, Family Parks aims to mystery shop each member park annually. This mystery shopping helps you the park operator gain a customer’s perspective on your park including feedback on presentation, service, facilities, cleanliness and overall satisfaction.
Working together to grow your business
From the very beginning Family Parks was a group of parks working together with a shared vision and whilst our numbers have grown significantly since the mid 1990’s the culture of working together for common benefit has not diminished. With the long hours involved in running a park most park owners do not have the luxury of having time to work on the business. For this reason Family Parks has developed a range of initiatives aimed at helping our park members businesses grow.
Member discounts
Family Parks knows how important it is for parks to control costs and to this end we have negotiated special deals for park members on a range of commonly used goods and services. Examples of preferred supplier member deals include: AAA Tourism, Austar, Bunnings Warehouse, Commonwealth Bank, Chemworks, Poolwerx, Commander, Jayco, K-Mac Powerheads, MHIA Insurance, Qualmark, RMS, Insurance Advisernet Australia, Sleepmaker, Sleepmaster, Jumping Pillows, Europcar, WOW Sight and Sound and Suite Design.
Training and education
Often our park members are new to the industry and are looking for information, training and in some cases qualifications and further education. Family Parks has developed its own operations manual and brand manual which provide a whole host of information for new park managers and owners or experienced park managers looking to update their skills and qualifications.
Family Parks also runs an annual conference where members can come together and exchange ideas and thoughts.
Advertising
Family Parks undertakes an extensive range of advertising in various national guides including AAA Tourism, Jason’s and AA Tourism and Family Holidays magazine. In addition Family Parks advertises in numerous caravan and camping magazines and state and territory guides. All this advertising builds awareness of the brand and the benefits of staying in a Family Park to the customer.
